Ja’liyah is 14 years old and has been a member of our Fremont Club for six years. She has an A/B grade point average and is part of the Junior Staff at the Fremont Club, where she works with younger Club members on assignments and activities. Ja’liyah wants to become a Registered Nurse and anticipates attending Fayetteville State University when she graduates from high school.
Ja’liyah is our 2019 Youth of the Year here in Wayne County. She says “since joining the Club I have become a leader and I want to take action in the world by having a voice for our Youth.”

To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
The purpose of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County is to promote the social, educational, health, leadership, and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth. Our youth come to the Boys & Girls Clubs to receive tutoring/homework help, computer training, sports education, to make friends and for mentoring. Our youth gain confidence by developing a sense of usefulness and belonging.
