​About the Program
​
​A Drummer’s World Drum Line is a traditional arts program offered in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County. Designed to preserve and celebrate the African American drumline tradition, this program provides youth with hands-on instruction in rhythm, performance, and teamwork. Classes are held weekly at our Goldsboro Club and are free to enrolled Club members.

​Meet the Instructor: Alando Mitchell
​
Alando Mitchell, founder of A Drummer’s World, is a lifelong musician and Wayne County native with a passion for inspiring youth through music. A skilled drummer and bassist, Alando brings deep roots in the drumline tradition and years of experience teaching and mentoring young performers. His commitment to discipline, leadership, and cultural pride is at the heart of every rehearsal.

​Community Impact
​
Drum Line participants perform at events throughout Goldsboro and eastern North Carolina, including Pig in the Park and the Goldsboro Christmas Parade. These performances build confidence in our youth and strengthen ties to the community. The program serves as a platform for artistic expression and cultural pride.
